It sometimes confuses me when someone says that God never changes. How can that be so? I think he is ever evolving. We cannot know his plan but we can look back and see how things have and are changing….. evolving.
Luke 9:56
For the son of man did not come to destroy lives, but to save them.
This got me to think about the old testament. God had told Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, this lead to the tribe of 12. Then when God’s time came he called Moses to lead them out of Egypt to the promised land. However, this land was possessed by other people. This meant they had to be removed. War and destruction……
God is so cleaver!
Everything he has done has been to set in motion exactly, not only what he wanted, but to leave clues and to progress people. To help his children grow and evolve.
Galations 3:23
Before the coming of this faith we were locked up under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed.
So we go from creation, to people just out right being sinners and God wipes out the world with a flood. Then He decides to chose people and give laws. This should give them a directive on how to act appropriately. But this is only for the select, “His chosen”, like a demonstration to show us.
What he showed us was who in there right mind can follow ALL those laws successfully? ( and yes I have read them all! ) Not only that, but, as generation after generation grows, people that are not, “The Chosen “, are wanting to know ” the God of Abraham, Elijah and Moses “.
Then enters the picture, Jesus!
Now Jesus is , well AMAZING! The entire old testament is foretelling of his coming ( God’s clues!) This is a time for another evolution….change. God has now showed us that the laws are just not sustainable by us mere ,weak, sinning humans. Not only that but the world keeps getting bigger, more spread out. There are Jews and non Jews, and so many more nations. God wants us all!!! So……He gives us something so special, everlasting, a way to bring EVERYONE together.
Not only is there a way to bring us all together, God simplified everything, dumbed it down to a child’s level. ( sorry if you didn’t like the “dumbed it down ” phrase).
Galations 3:22
But scriptures have locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who belive.
“Those who believe”…….
That is, believing in Christ. That he was Son of God, died for our sins and resurrected. In the Old testament to atone for our sins, the process was complicated.
The books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy lay out these complicated laws, spoken to Moses from God. However, now, after Jesus….we have this!
Galations 5:14
For the entire law is fulfilled by keeping this one command: ” Love your neighbor as yourself “.
This comes directly from God as written in Leviticus 19:18
” ‘ Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor or as yourself. I am the Lord.
This was the message that God sent His son to share with us! Also…..God gave us a way to cover all our sins, all at once….and this is for EVERYONE, the entire world!!!
…..So…… what is making it so impossible for us??…..
