Dear Friends,
Happy New Year!! I hope that you all are also Facebook friends with me, it turns out that sending pictures on email has its limitations. There fore I have been posting them on FB. I still however will send these Emails to update all of you on all he glorious things God is doing!
I have arrived in Rome now and today will begin my touring. But first I would like to recap Napoli as it was eventful in Christ. While in Napoli I toured around with a wonderful young lady named Cindy, she is from France. She is a teacher in a school of children that struggle. She teaches German. Each time she talks about her job and the children she just lights up! While out one day we stopped at a caffe with beautiful interior. We sat down enjoyed Caffe and pastries. we ended up talking for 2 hrs and I discovered why God had brought her to me. We share some troubles, ones that God has healed for me and continues to make me stronger. So I ask my USA christain family if we could please Pray for Cindy, she has decided that when she returns to France she is going to get closer to the Christian friens that she knows and get closer to God. She and I have exchanged information and I look forward to hearing that she is doing well.

Well sorry about that had a technology glitch and accidently sent that email before I had finished it!
I have found that navigating Italy is quite a challenge, but as I arrived here at Orsa Maggiore (for woman only) Carman, who greeted me stated that Itallian public  transportation is difficult even for locals! Well that just made me feel better. Now Napoli streets they where a particular challenge. And I could not tell you how many times that I had walked past the Metro as I was venturing out, However yesterday as I needed to GO to the Metro I made a wrong turn which left me walking up hills! I feel God is challenging my body making me strong. Cause otherwise I was about to cry! But I did make it and since I know me, I let more than 2 hrs early! LOL
Napoli was beautiful in a very old way, The streets still have the orriginal stone ( because they just don’t make things like they used to!) There is a lot of graffiti but as I pondered that it seems to be something that happens in any very populated city ( I was thinking of Chicago and New York) The air always smelled clean, We were right by the water. Napoli is a very ancient city and I learned that way way way way back it was forbidden to build outside the city walls, so Napoli built up, but not only up as time progressed they would not destroy old structures these became a timeless foundation to the very homes people occupy now. For this reason there is much that is not discovered. ( I learned this from my underground tour) However if you look at satalite maps of the area you can pick out unique structural outlines. I still did not get to see all there is in Napoli as it is just so rich with history, also Napolians are very religious and there are over 400 Churches in this tiny area. Also this brings me to the explaination of the pic I sent (previous accidentle email!) Besides being super religious they believe the Chili pepper brings luck and wards off evil. I bring this up because it saddened my heart. You all are aware of how much I study my Bible….well this situation just made me think of how time and time again people have done this sort of thing and it is so displeasing to GOD, but here we see it still happening! Anyways that was just my observation and by no means do I judge. I am of to Rome!
I need to stop here, as I fell I could just write and write, but I want to get out an see..

I love you all!
Buona Gionata! ( have a good day!)

Colleen
